Wolfsburg announced on their official website on Friday that they have extended the contract of club captain Germany international defensive midfielder Maximilian Arnold.

According to Wolfsburg's official statement, Arnold signed on a new three-year contract which runs until the summer of 2028.

Afer completing his contract extension, Arnold, whon spoke to Wolfsburg's official website again, said said: "Wolfsburg has been my sporting home for many years. My family and I feel very welcome here. I have full confidence in the club's direction and want to continue to take responsibility for the team, the club, and our supporters. Therefore, I am very clear that I want to stay at Wolfsburg with the greatest belief."

About Maximilian Arnold

The 31-year-old Arnold was born on May 27, 1994, in Riesa, Germany. He is 1.84 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Arnold joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Riesa, at a young age, then moved to Dynamo Dresden's youth academy at age 12. In 2009, he moved to Wolfsburg's youth academy and completed his Wolfsburg first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a match against Augsburg in November 2011.

At just 17 years, 5 months, and 30 days old, he is not only the youngest player debutant in Wolfsburg's club history, but also holds the record for the most appearances in the club's history.

Since his debut, Arnold has so far made 459 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 49 goals and providing 58 assists, winning one DFB-Pokal and one Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup (DFL-Super Cup) with the club.
