Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Vinicius Sousa, further improving their squad for the new season. The Brazilian, formerly of Championship club Sheffield United, has signed a contract with Wolfsburg until June 30, 2030, and will wear the No. 5 jersey.  

The 26-year-old midfielder is highly skilled and known for his powerful tackles and excellent on-pitch intelligence. "Vinicius Sosa has a wealth of experience in multiple leagues," said Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Hindzelots.  

"We have been following his performances at different clubs over the years and are delighted that he has finally chosen to join Wolfsburg. We believe that Vinicius Sousa's playing style will inject new vitality and strength into the team."  

Vinicius Sosa was trained at the famous Flamengo academy in Rio and experienced first-team football for the first time. In October 2020, he moved to Europe and joined Lommel, a club in the Belgian second division.  

He was then loaned to Mechelen in Belgium and Espanyol in Spain, and finally joined Sheffield United in the summer of 2023. After Sheffield United was relegated, he played 36 Premier League games, two FA Cup games and 38 Championship games for the team.
