RB Leipzig has officially announced the signing of Ivorian winger Yann Diomande. The player joined from Leganes in Spain and signed a long-term contract with the club until June 30, 2030. He will wear the No. 49 jersey and compete for RB Leipzig in various competitions, further enriching the team's offensive options.
The 18-year-old player won the top scorer in the USPL Youth League and won the title of Most Valuable Player in the final. He then officially moved to La Liga in January 2025 and joined Leganes Football Club.
Yann Diomande made his professional debut in an away game against Real Madrid. The young winger quickly showed his personal strength in La Liga with his excellent speed, skillful dribbling skills and good shooting ability. He scored 2 goals and sent 1 assist in the first 10 games, which was an impressive performance.
Marcel Schäfer, general manager of the sports department, said: "We are very happy to sign a young player with great potential like Yann Diomande. He is a left winger with great speed and dribbling ability, excellent physical fitness and a strong sense of goal. We are sure that he will have a bright future at RB Leipzig."
"In addition, he always gives his all, never gives up and shows a strong sense of team spirit. It is these qualities that make him a perfect fit for the football philosophy we are pursuing this season."
“We are very much looking forward to working with Yann Diomande. At the same time, we will also provide him with sufficient time and space to adapt to the Leipzig and Bundesliga, to help him gradually learn and grow, and continuously improve his abilities.”
Yann Diomande said: "I am very happy to entrust my future to RB Leipzig. It is an honor to play for such an excellent club. RB Leipzig has a long-standing reputation for nurturing young talents and is an ideal platform for young players to grow and improve."
“The club advocates a fast-paced, aggressive style of play, which is highly consistent with my personal characteristics. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and coaching staff and get involved in the team’s daily training and games as soon as possible.”
