Bristol City has officially announced that it has signed Czech goalkeeper Radek Vítek on loan from Manchester United for the entire 2025-26 season, with an option for Manchester United to recall him midway through January next year.

The 21-year-old Witek was born in Vsetin, Czech Republic. He was trained in the Olomouc Sigma youth training system and officially joined Manchester United in 2020. Since then, he has played steadily in Manchester United's U21 team and played 22 games between 2021 and 2023.

In order to gain first-team experience, Witek was loaned to Accrington Stanley in England in early 2024, playing 18 games and performing steadily. Then, he went to Austria in the 2024-25 season and joined FC Blau-Weiß Linz on loan, becoming the team's main goalkeeper.

In the just-concluded season, Witek played 37 games for Blue and White Linz, helping the team make history in just the second top league season and achieve the team's highest sixth place in history.

After joining Bristol City, Witek said: "I am really very excited. The Championship is a new challenge for me. More game opportunities are what I value very much, and I can't wait to meet all my teammates and coaches."

Technical director Brian Tinnion spoke highly of the signing: "We are very pleased to introduce Witek, a young goalkeeper that Manchester United values very much. As the new season approaches, his arrival will effectively improve our goalkeeping configuration, and we look forward to witnessing his growth."
