Matthäus Mane has indicated he hopes to impress new manager Rob Edwards after getting more playing time in the last match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. The promising young striker made an impressive 20-minute substitute appearance in his second first-team debut in West London. Wolves were led by U21 coach James Collins and U18 coach Ricky Walker in that match.
The player previously worked closely with James Collins and Ricky Walker. Now, he continues to develop under the guidance of new manager and former youth academy coach Rob Edwards. He stated that Rob Edwards' extensive experience in developing young players will help him progress this season. Matthäus Mane also had a brief appearance against Chelsea.
The player said, "It feels great to work with coaches I've worked with before, like James and Richie. Last season I coached the U18 team with Richie, and this season I'm coaching the U21 team with James."
“The coaches and staff know my abilities very well and have given me the opportunity to play for the first team, allowing me to play in the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. This has not only boosted my confidence but also increased my desire to play. I hope to get more playing time and show the coaching staff, staff, and fans what I can do and what I can contribute to the team.”
"Knowing that he had coached young players here and earned their trust has given me more confidence in training. I train hard every day and try my best, hoping to have the opportunity to showcase my abilities in matches."
Speaking about the first few days under the new head coach, Matthäus Mane said: "Everything is going well, and he wants us to give our all on the pitch. He prefers hard-working players and requires us to maintain high-intensity running both with and without the ball."
“He always pushes the team to do their best, so having him around is invaluable. I think even if the results aren’t ideal, the players will still encourage each other after each game. Everyone motivates each other, and even in training, everyone gives their all every day because we all want to keep improving.”
“We are full of confidence and firmly believe that we can turn things around. Every player believes this, but the key is for us to prove it in the game. At the same time, we hope that the fans will continue to support us, and even if the result is not ideal for the time being, we are still confident that we can change the situation.”
"I think we need to reunite, build team spirit, and try to score more goals, because you can't win a game without goals. If we can score and stay strong in the final stages of the game, then victory will be ours."
"We hope to have the support of the fans for our home game against Crystal Palace this week. Every player is eager to show their strength and fight for victory. We believe that as long as we fight hard and maintain our winning streak, the fans will continue to cheer us on, so we will do our best to win."
