On October 7th , the Houston Rockets defeated the Atlanta Hawks 122-113 in their preseason opener, with new signing Davidson being the star attraction. With point guard Fred VanVleet sidelined due to injury, last season's G League MVP delivered an outstanding performance, proving he could earn more playing time.
Davidson came off the bench for 22 minutes, scoring 17 points and 4 assists.
