NBA star LeBron James recently talked about teammate Luka Dončić in an interview on a podcast, and believed that the point guard's body changes will help his physical recovery become more efficient.
Luka Doncic, 26, was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers in February and played 28 games for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 28.2 points per game, 43.8% shooting and 37.9% three-point shooting.
It is worth noting that Luka Dončić has been working out this summer, and his more muscular physique has also sparked a lot of discussion among the media and fans.
"I think the bigger thing, and what a lot of people don't notice, is resilience," NBA forward LeBron James said. "I think when your body is in top shape, you feel completely different, and that's not really reflected in the game. "The way Luka Dončić plays isn't going to change much. He's still going to get 30, 40 points, 15 assists, 10 or 12 rebounds, and that's not going to change."
"I think the biggest change for him is that when he plays three or four games in a row, he wakes up the next morning and his knee doesn't hurt at all, because this is a body he has worked hard to build, and now it will help players in terms of recovery and physical fitness."
LeBron James continued, "I'm really proud of him, and he certainly doesn't need to listen to what I say. This is what he wants to do, and that's the most important thing. I may have to learn his training plan and steal some tips from him."
