Japan pulled off a surprise 3-2 comeback victory in an international friendly match at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo on Tuesday.

In the first half, Paulo Henrique and Martinelli both volleyed and scored. In the second half, Takumi Minamino intercepted the ball and fired home a powerful shot, sparking a comeback. Keito Nakamura's close-range shot deflected into the net, and Ayase Ueda scored with a header. Ultimately, Japan came from behind to defeat Brazil 3-2.

First Half

In the 10th minute, Brazil launched a quick counterattack. Tsuyoshi Watanabe misjudged a clearance in his own back half. After successfully beating the offside trap, Gabriel Martinelli quickly followed up, intercepted the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot went wide of the bottom left corner of the post.

In the 22nd minute, Takumi Minamino passes horizontally from a very close range in the box. Ayase Ueda quickly quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, attempted to push the ball with his right foot from a very close distance in the box, but he miskicked his shot and the ball went slightly wide of the left side of the post. Japan missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock!

4 minutes later, Bruno Guimarães made a through pass from the right wing. After successfully beating the offside trap, Paulo Henrique quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled into the right side of the box before volleying the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with a right-footed shot. Brazil broke the deadlock first to take a 0-1 lead!

In the 32nd minute, Lucas Paqueta made an overhead through pass from the left wing. After successfully beating the offside trap, Martinelli quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball into the lower center of the net with a left-footed shot from a very close distance in the box. Brazil quickly extended their lead to 0-2! The Arsenal striker finally broke his year-long goal drought for his national team!

At the end of the first half, Japan temporarily trailed Brazil 0-2 as they went into the half-time break.

Second Half

Both teams sides switched sides as the match continued. Japan launched a deadly quick counterattack. In the 52nd minute. Fabricio Bruno made a poor clearance inside his own penalty area. After intercepting the ball, Takumi Minamino fired a powerful right-footed shot into the top left corner of the net from the center of the box, past the outrushing Hugo Souza. This is the former Liverpool forward's third goal in his last nine games in all competitions, and his 25th for the national team!

10 minutes later, Junya Ito crossed into the box from the edge of the byline at the right wing. Keito Nakamura quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball with his right foot from the left side of the box, his shot was blocked by Bruno before being deflected into the bottom right corner of the net, bringing Japan level with Brazil 2-2. This is the Reims winger's third goal in his last five games in all competitions!

In the 70th minute, Ito crossed a box into the box from the right wing. Ayase Ueda rose high and attempted with a header in the box, unfortunately, his effort hit the crossbar and bounced off. Japan missed a golden opportunity to overtake Brazil!

Ito then took the corner kick for Japan by crossing it into the box. Ayase Ueda rose high and scored with a header, giving Japan a 3-2 lead over Brazil! This is the Feyenoord center forward's 10th goal of the season for club and country!

Junya Ito also provided his second assist of the match!

In the 87th minute, Ito passes horizontally from the left wing. Henry Heroki Mochizuki quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, took a right-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, his shot was initially blocked and cleared off not far away by Lucas Beraldo. After picking up the loose ball, Ao Tanaka followed up with a right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Souza.

When the final whistle is blown, Japan came from behind to defeat Brazil in a surprise 3-2 victory.

Carlo Ancelotti suffered his second defeat as the Seleção head coach.
