Legendary NBA point guard Chris Paul recently said he will not set a specific deadline for his retirement.

Paul, 40, was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft and has played in the NBA for 20 seasons. Is retirement drawing near? He responded on a podcast, "I haven't decided when I'm going to retire yet, and I won't set a specific date. But I do know I won't take it for granted. I'm going to cherish every moment, enjoy the road trips to different cities, and soak it all in, because it's crazy."

Paul previously played for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs before returning to the Clippers this season. According to ESPN, he played in 1,354 regular-season games in his career, averaging 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 47.0% from the field and 37.0% from three-point range.

Paul has also been selected to the All-Star team 12 times, the All-NBA team 11 times, and the All-Defensive team 9 times.

In the playoffs, Paul played a total of 149 times, averaging 20.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He led the Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021, which is also the best playoff record in his career so far.
