Leeds United officially announced on Thursday that AC Milan left winger Noah Okafor has officially joined the team. The two sides signed a four-year contract, which is valid until June 30, 2029.
According to various sources, the base fee for the transfer is €19 million, but including variable bonuses, the total could reach as high as €21 million.
Noah Okafor, 25, was born in Binningen, Switzerland, and made his professional debut for his home club Basel on May 19, 2018. He then moved to Red Bull Salzburg for €11.2 million in January 2020, and won four Austrian Super League titles and three Austrian Cups with the team.
In July 2023, Okafor transferred to AC Milan for 15.5 million euros. However, he left the Rossoneri on loan in the winter transfer window this year and joined Napoli for 1.5 million euros.
According to Transfermarkt, Okafor has made 54 appearances for AC Milan, contributing seven goals and five assists. He also played four times for Napoli, winning the 2024/25 Serie A title.
After the transfer was completed, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke said: "We have discussed the need to introduce some high-quality players to the offensive end. Noah fits this need perfectly. He is in his prime and has played for two top clubs in Italy and has played for Salzburg Red Bull in the Champions League."
"He's a player with great potential - he has almost all the necessary skills. We will provide him with plenty of support and a good platform, and maybe he can perform more consistently than in the past few years."
"If he can fully realise his potential, stay focused and work hard, he has what it takes to play at a high level. That's why we are all delighted to have him join us."
Okafor said: "I think today was great and I'm very excited. My dream since I was a child was to play in the Premier League. Because of this, joining Leeds United was a very easy decision for me."
"My playing style is perfect for the Premier League and this is a dream come true for me. I can't wait to get on the pitch."
"I've heard that the Premier League is the best league in the world and the competition is very fierce. I also have quite a few friends who have played or are currently playing in the Premier League."
"I'm really excited. Like I said before, I can't wait. I'm ready for this new challenge."
