Bologna announced on Sunday that it has signed 22-year-old Czech central defender Martin Vitik. The two sides signed a contract until June 30, 2029, with a one-year extension option.
Martin Vitik was transferred from Sparta Prague. He is recognized as one of the best youth training products of Sparta Prague in recent years, and made his debut for the first team in the Europa League on October 22, 2020. To date, Vitik has played 155 times for Sparta Prague, scoring 13 goals and providing 3 assists, and won 2 Czech First Division titles and 1 Czech Cup with the team.
According to multiple Italian media reports, Vitik's fixed transfer fee is 13 million euros, and the floating clause is 2 million euros. He is not only Bologna's third signing next season, but also the team's most expensive signing this summer. As a central defender with excellent physical fitness and confrontation ability, Vitik's arrival is expected to further strengthen the team's defense.
