Premier League champions Liverpool played another friendly match with Athletic Bilbao at Anfield and eventually defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-2 with goals from Salah and Gakpo.

Five minutes into the match, Liverpool created an attacking opportunity. Gakpo dribbled the ball forward, then dribbled it past the defense and into the net. Wirtz then headed the ball, but it went over the post. In the 7th minute, Liverpool got a free kick. Soboslai received a pass from Salah at the top of the penalty area and fired a long shot, but the ball was saved by Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon.

In the 14th minute, Ekitik received a through ball from Soboslai and then played a back pass into the penalty area. Salah then pushed the ball into the goal, giving Liverpool a 1-0 lead. In the 20th minute, Salah passed back from the penalty area, and Wirtz took the ball and shot at the goal, but it was blocked by the opponent. Ekitik's shot was also cleared.

In the 29th minute, Bilbao attacked with a free kick. Daniel Vivian passed the ball to the front of the goal. Oyhan Sanset seized the opportunity and shot low to help Bilbao equalize the score at 1-1. In the 32nd minute, Wirtz took a corner kick and Soboslai volleyed at the top of the penalty area, but it was blocked by the opponent.

A minute later, Salah headed the ball to Konate, who hooked the ball directly, but the ball went over the post. In the 34th minute, Bilbao organized an attack, and Iñaki Williams got the ball but shot wide.

In the 51st minute of the second half, Ekitik received a low shot from Salah in the penalty area, but the shot was too straight and was intercepted by Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon. In the 55th minute, Gravenberch received the ball and shot from the top of the penalty area, but Unai Simon saved it. Then Gakpo scored the rebound, putting Liverpool back ahead 2-1.

In the 64th minute, Jaureguizar took a corner kick, and Sannadi headed the ball, which hit Gakpo and flew into the net, allowing Bilbao to equalize the score at 2-2. In the 70th minute, Gravenberch passed the ball, and Gakpo followed up and tried to attack but was blocked. Then Gakpo volleyed the ball into the goal, helping Liverpool take the lead again at 3-2.

In the 80th minute, Endo Wataru was brought down by Daniel Vibian after receiving a pass from Chiesa, leading to a penalty for Liverpool. Salah then took the penalty but missed. In the 86th minute, Boiro volleyed a shot from Bencedor, but it went wide.

In the end, Liverpool beat Bilbao again 3-2 at home.
