Harvey Elliott, who currently plays for Liverpool, believes that the team failed to seize the opportunity in the game against Brighton and missed a good opportunity to achieve a desired result. In the last away game of the 2024-25 Premier League season, Liverpool lost to their opponents with a score of 3-2.  

Liverpool took the lead twice during the match, with Harvey Elliott breaking the deadlock with a close-range opener after a brilliant assist from Connor Bradley. Yassin Ayari equalised for the hosts shortly afterwards, but Dominik Soboslai quickly responded with a goal to put Liverpool ahead again in first-half injury time.  

Subsequently, two goals from substitutes Kaoru Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood in the final stages of the game helped Brighton to successfully reverse the situation and win the game.  

After the game, Harvey Elliott said: "It was a close game, we were in control at times and they were in control at others. That was to be expected against a team as well-organised and strong as Brighton."  

"They put us under a lot of pressure at the end and we couldn't hold on until the end. That crucial goal cost us a lot and ultimately we lost the victory because of it."  

When talking about how to maintain his form in the second half of the season, Harvey Elliott said: "It is indeed very challenging because you have to restrain yourself at all times and not be distracted by the atmosphere of celebration and short-term enjoyment."
