18-year-old left-back Harry Amass won Manchester United's Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year Award for his solid performances in the 2024/25 season.
Since joining from Watford in 2023, Armas has quickly established himself in Manchester United's youth training system. In 2024, Armas helped Manchester United's U18 team win the Premier League North Championship, the National Championship and the Premier League Cup, and thus gained the opportunity to enter the first team training and competition list.
Although his debut was delayed, he never got anxious. Finally, on March 16, in the match against Leicester City, Armas made his first-team debut as a substitute, and then started four games in the Premier League and showed a good performance in the Europa League semi-finals.
Recently, Armas was interviewed by Manchester United's official website and talked about the moment of his debut. Armas said: "It was a relief. I have been waiting for a long time and have been preparing. After the game, I sat alone in the locker room for a while and digested all the feelings."
“When I signed, I just wanted to grow, enjoy the game and strive to get into the first team. Now these goals have been achieved. Next, I have to continue to work hard to become not only a trustworthy player, but also a trustworthy person.”
Armas's growth is not only reflected on the court, but also in his mentality and personality. His story once again proves that hard work, patience and the right attitude are the only way for young players to go from youth training to the top stage.
