Before RB Leipzig and other Bundesliga teams enter their winter break, the team will play its final match of the year. Captain David Raum stated at the media conference following training that securing a victory and three points before the holidays is crucial.
David Raum stated, "That match often sets the tone for the winter break. Leverkusen has a large number of high-level players with outstanding individual abilities, and they have successfully overcome some difficulties this season. After squad adjustments, they are currently in good form and have shown a lot of entertaining content in their matches. We must play at our own pace and try to control the game."
"Despite the many changes the team has undergone, we still entered the winter break with a fairly satisfactory result. Looking back at our home performance, we have every reason to be satisfied. Of course, there is still room for improvement in the team, which makes us look forward to the restart in January."
David Raum's frank expression of frustration regarding the ongoing squad issues is understandable. Despite this, he remains confident that RB Leipzig possesses a wealth of high-caliber players. While Benjamin Henrichs returned to training on Tuesday, a full return this weekend is likely still premature. Notably, Raum deliberately scheduled the day's running session away from the fans, ensuring Henrichs would receive extra applause upon his long-awaited return.
David Raum said: "This is a very important and wonderful moment for Benjamin Henrichs as he gets closer to the end of his long and difficult recovery process. We are delighted that he is back with the team and participating in training. He is crucial to the team on the field and plays an equally positive role off the field."
Hopefully, Benjamin Henrichs will be back in form by the new year, and most of the injured players will also be able to return. However, RB Leipzig's focus is entirely on the upcoming match. Regardless of who plays, the team needs to win three points to enter the winter break with a positive mindset.
