Stoke City midfielder Walter Burge officially joins Hoffenheim and will wear the No. 18 jersey

Hoffenheim officially announced on Tuesday that it had signed 24-year-old Dutch midfielder Wout Burge from Stoke City. As usual, the club did not disclose the length of the contract and specific details.

Wout Burge was born in Feyenoord youth training and made his professional debut for the first team in the Europa League on August 16, 2018. He then moved to Elite Rotterdam, Sparta Rotterdam, Basel and other teams, and joined Stoke City for £4.3 million in August 2023.

To date, Burge has made 86 appearances for Stoke City, scoring 5 goals and providing 6 assists.

For Hoffenheim, Burge's arrival is expected to fill the vacancy left by Anton Stach. Hoffenheim sports director Andreas Schickel said after the signing: "With his outstanding height and strong physique, Watt is not only an uncompromising player in confrontation, but also has a strong ability to read the game. According to British media reports, Burge's transfer fee is about 4 million euros. He will wear the No. 18 jersey in Hoffenheim.
