On September 18th , according to ClutchPoints reporter Erik Slater , the Brooklyn Nets have reached a signing agreement with former Ole Miss player Davis. The undrafted rookie will get a chance to show his skills in the upcoming training camp and is expected to compete for a two-way contract.
Despite not being selected in the 2025 NBA Draft, Davis hasn't left the league. As a big man, he played for the Nets in Summer League, averaging 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 13.3 minutes per game across four games . While the sample size was limited , his rim protection, defensive energy, and rebounding skills impressed everyone and were crucial factors in his contract win.
The Nets are currently in a phase of simultaneously rejuvenating their roster and strengthening it, and they need more potential up front and in the paint. Davis's addition perfectly addresses this need, as his defensive coverage and presence around the basket will add a variety of options to the Nets' rotation. If he can replicate his summer league performance in training camp, he could eventually secure a two-way contract and even gradually earn regular season playing time.
From being an undrafted rookie to struggling in summer league and now competing for a regular position, Davis' story embodies the hardships and perseverance that many young players face in their NBA debuts. Whether he can find a foothold in the Nets remains to be seen.
