Mats Sells played every game in the 2024-25 Premier League season, and his team-mate Wayne Hennessey believes that the goalkeeper has performed particularly well in terms of consistency.  

Wayne Hennessey said: "I always think consistency is key in the Premier League and he has been outstanding all season. Not only in the league, but he has obviously played a big part in our progress in the cup competitions as well, especially in the penalty shootout."  

Mats Sells won the Premier League Golden Glove Award this season with his team's solid defensive performance, making history. He is not only the first winner from a club other than Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United since the establishment of the Golden Glove Award, but also the first Nottingham Forest player to win the three Premier League Golden Glove Awards.  

Wayne Hennessey said: "This is a great achievement. The Gold Glove Award is usually awarded to the top six team members, often the goalie of the championship team. It is gratifying that Mats Sayles can receive this honor. We are all very happy for him."

Before joining Nottingham Forest, Mats Sells played for Strasbourg in France for five and a half years, making nearly 175 appearances and being named captain in his final season. Teammate Wayne Hennessey said it was this leadership experience that helped him improve himself.  

Mats Sells' time in France has been a big help for Nottingham Forest. The player has adapted very quickly since arriving here, has performed very well, and is getting better and better. He is now a good communicator, has a great understanding of the game, and has a good relationship with his teammates.
