Spanish online media outlet Relevo's resident renowed Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, exclusively confirmed on Thursday through his personal official paid column that Real Sociedad's Spain international defensive midfielder Martín Zubimendi has finally agreed to begin negotiating about the possibility of a transfer in this summer with Arsenal.

According to Moretto's report, Zubimendi was originally very reluctant to negotiate with other clubs about the possibility of a transfer due to being frequently linked with transfer rumours in recent years, and has been waiting to observe the direction of Real Sociedad's new development.

However, following the resignation of former Sporting Director Roberto Olabe and head coach Imanol Alguacil respectively, as well as the uncertainty surrounding the club's future, Zubimendi finally opened up and accepted the possibility of leaving the club this summer.

Moretto said, after Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta's years of persistent attempts, Zubimendi finally agreed to let his agent start negotiations with the Gunners about the possibility of a transfer.

It is understood that Arsenal's Sporting Director Andrea Berta has begun negotiations with his agent on Zubimendi's personal terms.

In addition, knowing that Liverpool is still interested in signing the player, Arsenal is even willing to pay Txuri-Urdin a considerable amount of potential bonus and add-ons in addition to triggering its €60 million release clause.

He also added that unless a key player in the forward position really leaves Liverpool at a sky-high price, the possibility of the Reds spending a huge amount of money to sign Newcastle United center forward Alexander Isak this summer is almost zero.
