December 14th - The Cleveland Cavaliers officially announced that forward Evan Mobley is expected to miss approximately 2 to 4 weeks due to a Grade 1 left calf strain. The injury was discovered during a post-game evaluation following the team's victory over the Wizards, when tightness in his left calf was observed, and an MRI confirmed a strain.
This season, Mobley has been in red-hot form, averaging 19.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He is not only the team's core anchor in the paint but also a crucial player for spacing the floor on the perimeter. Therefore, his absence will put considerable pressure on the team, especially as they face several strong competitors in the upcoming schedule.
The Cavaliers stated that they will arrange a recovery plan based on Mobley's recovery progress and adjust rotations and tactics to minimize the impact of the absence of key players on their record.
