Tottenham Hotspur manager Angie Postecoglou has hit back at former Arsenal manager Wenger's comments that the Europa League champions should not qualify for the Champions League, saying the club always provokes an overreaction from the outside world, as if "making people lose their minds".

After defeating Bodø Brøndby 3-1 in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final, Tottenham Hotspur took the initiative to advance to the final. In the press conference before the second leg, Postecoglou did not shy away from talking about the outside controversy.

"I've said it before - Spurs drive people crazy. It really does. You put this club into any topic or discussion and there will always be people trying to disparage it as much as possible.

"Why wasn't anyone talking about this before? Why is it suddenly an issue now? I really don't understand what's different."

"Last year the fifth place in the Premier League could not enter the Champions League, but this year it can. What does this mean? This is not the first time. No one has added an asterisk to this rule saying 'you have to meet certain additional conditions'."

"But that's Spurs. People love it that way. You love it that way too. I didn't want to go into it because I have so much respect for Wenger, he's a true legend in football.

"But let's be honest, Spurs do make people lose their minds. I like that. Go ahead, make those people uncomfortable, I enjoy it."
