Ahead of their Champions League group match against Atletico Madrid, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised rival manager Diego Simeone as a role model.

At the pre-match press conference, reporters mentioned Simeone and Arteta praised him: "Everything he has achieved since he coached Atletico Madrid is admirable. Not only trophies, but more importantly the identity and spirit he has established for the club."

"He has created a culture that perfectly suits his own character and has maintained it for so long is a remarkable achievement. I have great respect for his ability to remain passionate and influential at the same club for so long."

"It takes an extraordinary person to consistently motivate players and maintain competitiveness in such a high-pressure environment. He consistently delivers that energy and desire to win, which is something very few coaches can do."

When asked if he considered Simeone a role model, Arteta admitted that he had indeed learned a lot from him: "He is one of the people I look up to. His passion, focus and persuasiveness have benefited me a lot."

But Arteta also pointed out that he paid more attention to integrating these experiences into Arsenal's culture rather than copying the models of others: "The culture I built comes from my understanding and belief in Arsenal. You must be true to your own way. This is the key to continued success."

Regarding the possibility of Simeone choosing to coach in the Premier League in the future, Arteta said with a smile: "The Premier League already has enough top coaches, but if he is willing to try, I believe he will also succeed. Anyone who can stand on the highest stage of the Champions League can do it in any league."
