Valencia coach Carlos Colberán gave a media interview after the team's 0-4 away defeat to Real Madrid in the 11th round of La Liga.  

Carlos Colberán admitted that the team's performance was poor, saying: "Although we started well and showed some potential in the first 15 minutes, the penalty we conceded was a big blow. The team had problems on both ends of the pitch and failed to perform to its full potential. There were 600 spectators in the stadium, and we had to give it our all."  

“We had to focus on defense. Real Madrid is a difficult team to press, and you can’t expose yourself to their speed. Our goal was to limit their attacking space behind the defense, extend their attacking lines, and maintain a low defensive line in the middle. Apart from Arnautovic’s breakthrough in the opening minutes, we had almost no effective counter-attacks and were unable to launch attacks from our own half, managing only a few threatening attacks.”  

“I plan to try a five-defender formation to strengthen our defense, because the opponent caused us a lot of trouble with a four-defender formation. We are all aware of the responsibilities we bear, especially myself, who has a particularly strong sense of responsibility for our work. We must carefully analyze this game, because there weren't many positive aspects, and we have a responsibility to perform better in the next game.”  

"Getting every player to perform at their best is key to overcoming the current predicament. We started with a four-man midfield, so we needed some midfielders with a different style from Javi Graz, hoping he could play as important as he did against Girona. We didn't make the necessary adjustments to the formation until the last few minutes of the game."  

Speaking about the fans, Carlos Colberán said, "We fully understand the fans who have made financial sacrifices and traveled long distances to support the team, and we thank those who came to the hotel specifically to show their support. We hope to present the fans with even more exciting performances than we have so far. We are disappointed with this game; it was not the result we expected, but we can only take responsibility and strive to do better in the next game."
