Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on Saturday that Shuto Machino has joined from Holstein Kiel. The two sides have signed a four-year contract, which will be valid until June 30, 2029.

According to Bild, Machino Shuto's contract also includes a one-year extension option. His transfer fee is 6.75 million euros, plus a floating bonus of 3.25 million euros.

After completing the transfer, Shuto Machino said: "I really want to join Borussia Mönchengladbach, so I am very happy that this transfer is completed. I will do my best to contribute to the team as soon as possible." He will wear the No. 18 jersey at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 25-year-old Machino Shuto mainly plays as a center forward. He made his professional debut on loan for Kitakyushu Sunflowers in J1 League on March 10, 2019. He then moved to Shonan Rekai in early 2021 and played 80 J1 League games for the team.

In July 2023, Machino joined Holstein Kiel for 700,000 euros. In his first season with Holstein Kiel, he delivered an excellent answer with 5 goals and 6 assists in 31 games, helping the team to be promoted to the Bundesliga. Last season, Machino continued to play 34 times for Holstein Kiel in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 4 assists.

Regarding the arrival of Machino Shuto, Borussia Mönchengladbach General Manager Roland Wilkus said: "Machino Shuto is an all-round striker who can play in many different positions. He will provide more options for our offense."
