Dortmund will host Holstein Kiel at home in the last round of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. Dortmund winger Brandt said the team must face this key battle with the same mentality and was grateful for the trust that coach Niko Kovac had in him.

Brandt, 29, said: "I believe in the structure of our current game, especially in recent weeks and months, we have regained the stability we need through discipline. We must treat it like a normal Bundesliga game, no more, no less. Since I joined Dortmund, almost every game is about success or failure in a sense. Now it is the same, just to win this game."

So far this season in the Bundesliga, Brandt has contributed 5 goals and 9 assists for Dortmund.

"He pays a lot of attention to detail, and those details often make the difference between winning and losing, so he's very strict in that regard," Brandt said of manager Niko Kovac. "We all have different personalities, but generally speaking, it's good for everyone to have a clear rule, and that's what he sticks to."

"He's really supported me over the last few months and that's helped me a lot. What he said in the press conference wasn't really for me, it was more for the media. I already knew how he communicated with me on the training ground, how we communicated and how we got along. I knew what he meant to me and I think he knew what I meant to him."

Brandt also shared, "In my second year at Dortmund, I was not happy from a competitive perspective. I often sat on the bench at that time. The difference is that now the criticism and public opinion seem to be more focused. There have been many times this season when the criticism has been centered around Emre Can, then Nuri Sahin, and now more on me, but this is actually a very educational season."

"Maybe it took me longer to get back into shape, but fundamentally I wouldn't say it was a bad year. It all depends on how the season ends. We at least give ourselves a chance to achieve the minimum goal, and if we do that, then I can accept that some people are unhappy with me."
