The Athletic's resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent James Pearce, exclusively reported on Tuesday that Liverpool has officially reached an agreement with Bournemouth on the transfer of Hungary international left-wing back wonderkid Milos Kerkez.

According to Pearce's report, Liverpool will pay Bournemouth a transfer fee of £40 million to sign Kerkez, which included potential add-ons. The player has also reached personal terms with the former since the end of May.

Currently, the Reds has arranged for Kerkez to arrive at the AXA Training Center on the same day for his medicals and complete his contract signing procedures. The two parties are expected to sign on a long-term five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2030.

It is worth mentioning that Kerkez will break Greece international left-wing back Kostas Tsimikas's the record (£11.75 million) and become the most expensive full-back in Liverpool's club history.

In addition, Pearce also responded to the fact that many fans of the opposing team frequently have many things to say about Liverpool having lots of big moves during this summer transfer window.

He said that since being appointed last summer, head coach Arne Slot had expected to make drastic changes to the squad during this summer transfer window, so there was nothing surprising about it.

Since Liverpool has too many foreign players and young players trained by its own youth academy, the club's player registration quota for foreign players and homegrown players has already been full, and they must make some space first, hence the club did not reject most of the offers made to them this summer.

At the same time, since the club has not spent much money in the transfer market in the past few years, and the huge profits from winning the league title and the Champions League League Stage last season, Liverpool has the freedom to spend huge transfer fees during this summer transfer window compared to the other 19 Premier League clubs.

Pearce also added that after completing the transfers of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Kerkez, Liverpool has recently started to approch Crystal Palace captain, England international center back Marc Guehi.

He revealed that Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes will hold further talks with Crystal Palace next week on Guehi's transfer. 

The Reds are also well aware that the Eagles have rejected Newcastle United's four offers for the player in the past two seasons, but since Guehi's contract is about to expire next summer and he is open to a transfer, Liverpool is confident that they can sign the former Chelsea youth academy graduate.

Preliminary speculation is that Liverpool should submit a £45 million offer to Crystal Palace. At the same time, since defensive wonderkid Jarell Quansah is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen for €35 million, this will not cause problems in terms of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

It is reported that Bayer Leverkusen is close to reaching personal terms with Quansah, as the player is currently on England U21s national team duty, the two sides are expected to continue to negotiate the final details in early July.

Milos Kerkez, who is only 21 years old, was born on November 7, 2003 in Vrbas, Serbia. He is 1.8 meters tall and primarily plays as a left-wing back. He can also play as a left midfielder. He has dual citizenship of Serbia and Hungary.

Kerkez joined the youth academy of his hometown club Vrbas since he was a child. In 2014, he joined the Rapid Vienna youth academy. In 2019, he moved to Győr's youth academy and completed his Győr first-team debut in August 2020 at the age of 16.

In February of the following year, Kerkez joined AC Milan and played for its U21s team.

At the end of January 2022, Kerkez joined AZ Alkmaar for €1 million. During this spell, he attracted the attention of Benfica, but the transfer eventually fell through because the two clubs could not reach an agreement on his transfer fee.

In July of the following year, Kerkez joined Bournemouth for £15.5 million.
