Barcelona announced on its official website on Wednesday that Manchester United's England international forward Marcus Rashford has joined the club on-loan.

According to Barça's official statement, Rashford will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the club also has the right to buy out his ownership for £40 million. At the same time, Rashford will also wear the No. 14 jersey which was vacated after Brazil international attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho had left the club.

In addition, according to Spanish online media outlet Relevo's resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, Barça did not originally list Rashford as one of its transfer targets this summer.

However, due to the successive failures in signing Nico Williams and Luis Díaz, and because Rashford has been eager to get the opportunity to join the club this summer, the La Liga defending champions immediately thought of his wish and eventually facilitated this transfer.

About Marcus Rashford

Rashford, 27, was born on October 31, 1997 in Manchester, England. He is 1.8 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a center forward or right winger. He has dual citizenship of England and St. Kitts and Nevis.
