Villarreal head coach Marcelino García Toral commented on the team's 2-0 victory over Getafe at the Estadio de la Cerámica press conference. He stated that the team anticipated a tough match and therefore had to remain patient throughout.  

Marcelino said: "Getafe left us almost no space, and our defense performed very solidly, which was the key to the game. The goal also played a crucial role. Then the opponent had a player sent off, but we controlled the game very well. It is not easy to get 35 points at this stage."  

He maintained his consistent attitude regarding the team's remarkable performance in the first half of the season. He stated, "The second half of the season is usually more challenging than the first, and maintaining the same pace is not easy, but every point was earned through our own strength. Finishing third shows that we performed the best among the remaining 17 teams. Moving forward, we will continue to adhere to our values, respect, and humility, striving to earn even more points."  

The head coach also affirmed the team's overall performance and specifically praised George Mikotadze for rediscovering his scoring touch. He stated, "George Mikotadze is a highly skilled shooter who consistently scores high-quality goals. I think he desperately needed these opportunities, and I'm genuinely happy with his performance. As for the other players, everyone made important contributions. Their quality on the field is more crucial than the length of their playing time."  

Looking ahead to Wednesday's match, Marcelino stated clearly: "Our current goal is to win the Champions League, and we need this victory. These players deserve this result, and the team has put in enough effort. I believe we can achieve our goal on Wednesday."
