Marco Silva: We showed our quality and we deserved this victory

Fulham beat Southampton 2-1 in the Premier League, and manager Marco Silva believes they got the right result despite the late defeat.
Fulham fell behind in the first half but Emile Smith Rowe, who came on as a substitute in the second half, equalised for the visitors before Ryan Sessegnon scored a heroic goal in stoppage time.
After the game, Marco Silva said: "I agree, this victory is well deserved. If there is a team that has to win, it should be Fulham. I know we conceded a big free kick early and we should have done better, but from the first minute of the game to the last minute, we were always a team that tried to attack and strive for goals."
"I knew they had scored early but then they just focused on defending as hard as they could and trying to stop us from getting through them. They formed a tight line around the box, with nine out of 10 players staying in the box. Teams like that are usually hard to beat because their goal is to preserve the result rather than to win the game."
"In this situation, the players have to be patient, make the right decisions and seize the right moments. Although our performance in the first half was not up to standard, I think we still created enough chances."
"Inside the box, we lacked some confidence, trust and quality, and the team still needs to create more chances with the final pass and the final shot. Despite this, I think we created enough chances in the first half and were fully capable of turning the situation around at the end of the half."
“The second half was pretty much the same, one side constantly trying to create scoring chances, 90 per cent of the time in our final third. They were defensive, trying to delay us or create counter attacks. I thought we did create enough chances, Willian almost scored, and there were some great performances down the left and right.”
