Michael Keane has signed a new one-year contract with Everton until the end of June 2026. The centre-back joined Everton from Burnley in July 2017 and the new deal will see him continue his stay with the club into his ninth season.
During this period, Michael Keane played 230 games for Everton, including 197 Premier League appearances, ranking 17th in the club's history.
The defender also excelled in front of goal, scoring 16 goals for Everton. Michael Keane began his career at Manchester United and has 12 England caps, nine of which came during his time at Chelsea, scoring in a 5-1 European Championship qualifier against Montenegro in March 2019.
After signing his new contract, Michael Keane said: "I love Everton and have been incredibly proud to play for the club since I joined. I'm delighted to be continuing here."
“The manager wants to build a competitive team and I still believe I can contribute a lot to Everton. Although we have had a difficult few years, this is undoubtedly an exciting time for the players and loyal fans.”
“We have a world-class new stadium and, under the leadership of our head coach, we achieved many exciting results last season and I look forward to continuing to be a part of this team.”
Everton manager David Moyes said: "We are very pleased that Michael Keane has decided to stay. His outstanding performances against Fulham and Newcastle at the end of last season fully demonstrated his value. We will need his experience and professionalism in the future."
