Arsenal will host Keira at the Emirates Stadium in the eighth round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. Danish midfielder Nergaard stated that the most important thing now is to train hard and remain patient, hoping to get more opportunities to showcase his abilities and play.
With goals from Jesus and Dzekeresh, Arsenal defeated Italian giants Inter Milan 3-1 away in the 7th round of the Champions League, successfully advancing to the round of 16 as champions.
Nelgaard, 31, joined Arsenal from Brentford last October. He said, "This season has been a fantastic experience for me so far. I certainly hope to get more playing time, but I've really enjoyed the playing time I've had so far."
“I’ve played a few games in the matches we’re playing tomorrow, and this is my first time participating in the Champions League, so it feels incredible. Even though I won’t have much playing time, I will still do my best to contribute to the team in every way I can.”
Regarding the competition with his teammates, Nergaard said, "It's not easy. They are all very good players. To be honest, it's a pleasure to come here every day and train with such high-level players."
"But at the same time, it feels great to feel like I'm a part of it and to be truly on this level of stage, and I've proven that all along this season. Now all I have to do is be patient, keep training hard, and hopefully the opportunity will come."
Nelgar continued, "My communication with the manager is very smooth, and he is very honest with me. I can feel that he is satisfied with my role in the team. I think as the season goes into the second half, the team will really need the full squad, and I am confident that I can make a difference in the final stages of the Premier League."
In addition, when talking about his family, Nelgoo shared, "My grandmother collects clippings from different newspapers every year, which is really wonderful. It's the best Christmas present I receive every year. She has been doing this for nine years in a row, so I have a huge stack of clippings at home."
“Every Christmas Eve, the whole family gathers around the scrapbook. It’s a very special time for me and my family. I hope that when my children grow up, they can look through these scrapbooks and see that their dad was pretty good at soccer.”
