After a major offseason adjustment, Denver Nuggets core Nikola Jokic admitted in an interview that he is full of expectations for the team's current situation and future, and clearly expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with the Denver Nuggets.

Jokic had the opportunity to sign a four-year, $212 million contract extension this summer, but he chose to wait until 2026 to sign a higher-value, four-year contract worth $293 million.

In this regard, Jokic said: "I didn't think about it particularly. I think the contract extension is a reward and a natural thing in the basketball world. Especially in today's NBA, with the salary cap continuing to grow, this is normal."

Jokic is currently in the third season of a five-year, $276 million supermax contract. Although he hasn't explicitly stated whether he will sign an extension in 2026, he emphasized, "My plan is to stay with the Denver Nuggets forever."

Besides the contract issue, Jokic also discussed the team's changes. The Denver Nuggets completed management and roster adjustments during the offseason, bringing in several veteran players, trading Michael Porter Jr. for shooter Cameron Johnson, and re-signing Bruce Brown. Regarding these changes, Jokic said, "They've definitely changed the team. This is a fresh start."

Jokic specifically mentioned Brown's return and the addition of new players, and joked with his usual humor: "Bruce is back, and we won the championship with him. We have to save his career again. We still have Cam, Jonas, and a healthy Holmes. This is a new energy, a new starting point. I hope we can do something."
