Real Oviedo announced on its official website on Saturday that Atlético Madrid's Romanian international goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan has joined the club on-loan.
According to the newly-promoted La Liga club's official statement, Moldovan will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement includes a non-mandatory buyout clause.
About Horațiu Moldovan
Horațiu Moldovan, 27, was born in Cluj, Romania on January 20, 1998. He is 1.83 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. His younger brother Denis is also a professional footballer and currently plays for a non-league club in Cluj. He is also a goalkeeper.
Moldovan joined the youth academy of CFR Cluj at the age of 12. After being promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2010, he was loaned-out to Hermannstadt and Viitorul Pandurii, during which, he helped Hermannstadt won the Romanian Third Division.
In February 2019, Moldovan joined Ripensia Timișoara as a free agent, during which he also briefly played for Sepsi OSK.
In August of the following year, Moldovan transferred to UTA Arad as a free agent.
In January 2021, Moldovan joined Rapid Bucharest for €100,000.
In January last year, Moldovan joined Atlético Madrid for €800,000, but has never had the opportunity to play for Los Colchoneros since joining.
In August 2024, Moldovan was loaned-out to Sassuolo.
Last season, Moldovan played 27 times for the newly-promoted Serie A club in all competitions, conceded 27 goals, kept 11 clean sheets 11 times, and won the Serie B with the club.
