Anger Postcoglou emphasized on Thursday that he would never change his coaching style to appease the club. During an appearance on The Overlap podcast, the Australian firmly stated:
"I will not change my coaching philosophy because of taking over. The key is whether they really need me? I will stick to my tactical style and training methods, and I am eager to win championships. This has been my guiding principle throughout my coaching career."
Regarding the possibility of returning to coach the Celtics, Postecoglou made it clear that he would not consider it: "I will not go back. I don't think it fits my coaching career plan. Whatever the next step is, it will be a completely new challenge, a place where I can exert influence and win honors. However, this will not diminish my love for the Celtics in the slightest."
"My two years coaching the Celtics were a wonderful experience. I always cherish those memories, but I will not go back. That's not how my coaching career should be going."
The 60-year-old Postcoglou has managed numerous teams, including South Melbourne, Pan Asian Gaya, Moreland Bianconeri, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest. During his tenure, he led these teams to four A-League titles, one Oceania Champions League title, one Asian Cup, one J1 League title, two Scottish Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup, two Scottish League Cups, and one Europa League title. To date, he has accumulated 297 wins, 103 draws, and 175 losses.
Despite being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October 2025, Postecoglou has not actively distanced himself from the sport. Since January of this year, he has served as a UEFA technical observer, responsible for collecting match videos and data.
