Celta Vigo announced on its official website on Thursday that Real Betis' Spain international center forward Borja Iglesias has rejoined the club.

According to Celta Vigo's official statement, Iglesias has signed on a three-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.

About Borja Iglesias

Borja Iglesias, 32, was born on January 17, 1993, in Compostela, Galicia, Spain. He is 1.87 meters tall and plays as a center forward. He is nicknamed "Panda" for his deep-set of eyes and his penchant for wearing black nail polish in support of Black rights.

Iglesias joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Compostela, at the age of 10. He later played for the youth academies of Valencia and La Roda. In 2011, he joined Villarreal's youth academy and began playing for their C team the following year.

In July 2013, Iglesias joined Celta Vigo's B team on a free transfer and completed his Celta Vigo first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in January 2015.

In July 2017, Iglesias was loaned-out to Real Zaragoza.

The following July, Iglesias joined Espanyol for €10 million, where his high goalscoring efficiency attracted interest from several major local clubs.

In August 2019, Iglesias joined Real Betis for €28 million.

During his four-and-a-half-year-year spell at Real Betis, Iglesias won the Copa del Rey with the club once.

In January 2024, Iglesias was loaned-out to Bayer Leverkusen, where he helped the club achieve the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double.

That same summer, Iglesias returned to Celta Vigo on-loan.

Last season, Iglesias played 39 times for the La Liga club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists.
