Ross Stewart expressed his satisfaction with his performance after scoring two crucial goals at Bramall Lane and expressed his confidence that he can make a significant contribution to Southampton manager Will Steele this season.  

Ross Stewart has missed several games due to injury since joining Southampton from Sunderland two years ago. However, he scored twice in seven second-half minutes against Sheffield United to lead the team to a comeback victory, showing a return to his best form.  

The striker remained in excellent form despite completing two grueling matches in just four days. He emphasized that he had been diligently conditioning himself to prepare for the rigors of the Sky Bet Champions League. He said, "From preseason and even during the offseason, I've been diligently taking care of myself. Since returning to the pitch, I've been doing everything in my power to give myself the best conditions and maintain my fitness."  

"I've experienced a lot of setbacks and disappointments in the past two years. But in the last two games, I got the chance to start, played well, and made positive contributions to the team, which makes me very satisfied. I have clear expectations for my performance, and I hope that coach Will Steele will continue to trust me and give me more playing time so that I can show more of my strength. I will maintain my good condition and ensure that my performance remains stable."  

Standing at 6'2 ", Ross Stewart possesses a strong physique and exceptional speed, confident he has all the tools to continue leading the attack. The Scotland international has made 81 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 40 goals, including 10 in 13 Championship matches. In the first half, he had two headers saved by Michael Cooper, but he then dribbled past the goalkeeper to earn a penalty, but Adam Armstrong was unable to convert.  

He continued: "I think we were unlucky because we only scored two goals in the first half and the goalkeeper made some great saves. I've played as a lone striker for most of my career, so I'm very familiar with it. I think I'm very agile and can play short passes, create space and get into position, and I'm also capable of heading the ball."  

"I believe I have diverse qualities that allow me to adapt to different playing styles. I demonstrated many of these qualities in this match, and I also showed similar performances in Saturday's match. I hope to have more game opportunities in the future to continue to demonstrate these abilities. At the same time, I have also proven that I can score goals in matches. Around 2,700 fans have travelled from far and wide to cheer on Southampton Saints at Bramall Lane as they host Derby County on Saturday in what is expected to be a packed away game.  

Ross Stewart said: "The support from the fans has been fantastic and no one is more disappointed than the team that we couldn't give them the points they wanted. But they still came all the way here and we're very grateful for that. We're delighted to reward them with the three points and we're sure they'll be back to support us on Saturday. We have to strive for the same performance on Saturday."
