Tottenham Hotspur's veteran English goalkeeper Fraser Forster joins Bournemouth on a free transfer..


Bournemouth announced on their official website on Saturday that Tottenham Hotspur's veteran English goalkeeper Fraser Forster has joined the club on a free transfer.


According to Bournemouth's official statement, Forster has signed on a short-term six-month deal with the club which will only run until the end of the season. He will also wear the number 17 shirt which was previously worn by Moroccan international forward Amine Adli.


After completing his transfer procedures, Forster, who was interviewed by the Bournemouth official website for the first time said: "I'm really happy to be here! It all happened so fast, but I'm delighted to be a part of it."


"I'm looking forward to helping the team and the squad as a whole, and contributing as much as I can in the coming season."


"You can really feel the club's trajectory and ambition, which I think is very appealing to me. The opportunity came, and I couldn't pass it up."


"Being able to pass on my experience to young goalkeepers is crucial for me and one of the main reasons I chose to come here. I hope to train hard, work hard, and contribute to the team."


"I want to help the young players, help them improve, help them grow. I think back to the goalkeepers who helped me when I was young, and I'm very interested in helping them develop."


"Hopefully, I can do that, while also contributing at the first-team level and having a positive impact in the dressing room."


About Fraser Forster


The 37-year-old Forster was born on March 17, 1988, in Hexham, England. He is 2.01 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. 


Forster joined the youth academy of non-league club Stocksfield at the age of 13, later transferring to the Wallsend Boys Club' youth academy, who renowned for developing players. After graduating in 2005, he joined Newcastle United's youth academy and was promoted to the first-team the following summer.


However, in the following years, Forster did not get a chance to play for the Magpies, instead spending many years out on-loan, playing for  Stockport County and Bristol Rovers successively.


In August 2009, Forster was loaned-out to by Norwich City. During his time there, he won the League One title with the club.


The following August, Forster was loaned-out to Celtic for two years.


In July 2012, Celtic officially bought out Forster's ownership rights for £2 million.


During his four-year spell with the Bhoys, Foster won the Scottish Premiership three times and the Scottish Cup twice, as well as being selected for the Scottish Premiership Team of the Year once.


In August 2014, Forster joined Southampton for £10 million.


During his seven-year spell with the Saints, Forster's outstanding performances earned him a place as a England international goalkeeper.


He also returned to Celtic on-loan for the 2019/20 season, where he helped the club achieve a Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup double.


After his contract expired in the summer of 2022, Forster joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.


During his three-year spell at Spurs, Forster made 34 appearances for the Premier League giants in all competitions, conceding 54 goals and keeping eight clean sheets, as well as winning the UEFA Europa League once.
