The New Orleans Pelicans may trade Zion Williamson this summer. According to independent reporter Shamet Dua, the Pelicans management has begun evaluating potential options.

Zion Williamson, 24, plays mainly as a power forward and was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 1 pick in 2019. In the past six years, he has played only 45% of the Pelicans' games due to injuries and missed the playoffs.

So far this season, Zion has played only 30 times due to a hamstring injury, averaging 24.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.23 blocks in 28.5 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of 56.7%. The Pelicans also had a bleak record in the absence of Zion and other key players, and eventually ranked second from the bottom in the Western Conference with 21 wins and 61 losses.

In summary, the Pelicans management finally decided to give up Zion. Shamet Dua pointed out that Pelicans owner Gale Benson has instructed incoming President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars to complete the Zion trade this summer.
