Amid the din of Chelsea's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, captain Reece James approached the media and was typically candid about his delight at having helped the club return to Europe's top flight.  

The defender knew the importance of finishing in the top five before the game and he communicated that goal clearly to his teammates, who lived up to his expectations and performed well. Reece James was quick to praise the team's brilliant performance and expressed his excitement for the future development of this team.  

After the game, Reece James said: "It feels great to win the Champions League title for the club again. We must strive for an ideal result against Nottingham Forest on the last day of the season. We know this game is very challenging. They have performed well this season, their defense is solid, and their offense is also very threatening."  

“So it was an indescribable joy for us to be able to stop the opposition, score the crucial goal and take the three valuable points.”

"Many people said that we were too young and inexperienced, and they worried that we wouldn't be able to hold on and succeed at critical moments. But I think we have proved ourselves with our performance."

Reece James has already won honours in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League and he is looking forward to completing his personal goal of a UEFA Champions League treble by winning the league title with his teammates later this week.

Everyone wants to win European glory. I know it is important for the club. This is the opportunity to achieve our goal and we are very eager to win it."
