Juventus held Sporting Clube de Portugal to a 1-1 draw in matchday 4 of the 2025/26 season UEFA Champions League League Phase match at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday.

In the first half, Araújo's shot hit the post and deflected into the net, Trincão's shot hit the crossbar, and Vlahović scored from close range. In the second half, David's close-range header was spectacularly saved. The match ended with Juventus 1-1 Sporting Clube de Portugal. After this round of matches, I Bianconeri, still without a Champions League win this season, sits in 23rd place with 3 points; the Leões sit in 10th place with 7 points.

Thanks to Vlahović's goal, new Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti avoided a disastrous start to his debut.

First Half

In the 9th minute, Weston McKennie crossed into the box from the right wing. Dušan Vlahović quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot shot at a difficult angle from the left side of the box, but his shot was saved by Rui Silva.

3 minutes later, Francisco Trincão passes horizontally from the left wing. Maximiliano Araújo quickly followed up and got the ball before volleying the ball from the left side of the box with a left-footed shot. His shot struck the bottom right corner of the post and deflected into the bottom left corner of the net, giving Sporting Clube de Portugal broke the deadlock first to take 0-1 lead! The Uruguay international finally broke his year-long Champions League goal drought!

In the 14th minute, Georgios Vagiannidis passes horizontally from the right wing. Francisco Trincão quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his right foot from the right side of the box. Unfortunately, his shot hit the crossbar and bounced off, Sporting Clube de Portugal missed a golden opportunity to quickly extend their lead!

3 minutes later, Pierre Kalulu crossed into the box from the right wing. Vlahović attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was spectacularly saved off the goal line by Silva.

In the 18th minute, Juventus launched a quick counter-attack. McKennie intercepted the ball and passes horizontally from the right wing. Vlahović quickly followed up, got the ball, cuts inside, and took a few steps before taking a left-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Silva.

Shortly after, Andrea Cambiaso crossed into the box from the left wing. Vlahović quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from the center of the box, but his shot was saved by Silva.

In the 34th minute, Khéphren Thuram passes horizontally from the left side of the box. Vlahović quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, tapped the ball into the bottom left corner of the net from a very close distance in the box. Juventus equalized Sporting Clube de Portugal at 1-1! The Serbia international striker, whose contract expires next summer, has scored in two consecutive home games!

At halftime, Juventus and Sporting Clube de Portugal temporarily go into the break with a 1-1 draw.

Second Half

Both teams switch sides as the match continued. In the 49th minute, Francisco Conceição delivered a through ball from near the midfield center circle. After beating the offside trap, Vlahović quickly followed up, got the ball and cuts inside before taking a left-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Silva.

Shortly after, Juventus launched a quick counter-attack. Cambiaso intercepted the ball and passes horizontally from the left wing. Khéphren Thuram followed up, got the ball and cuts inside before taking a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Silva.

In the 85th minute, Luis Suárez made a straight pass from the right wing. Geny Catamo quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled towards the edge of the penalty area before before taking a left-footed long shot, but his shot went just slightly wide of the bottom right corner of the post. 

1 minute later, Fabio Miretti passes horizontally from the right wing. Filip Kostić stopped the ball before taking a left-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Silva.

In the second minute of stoppage time, Kalulu delivered an overhead pass from the right wing. Jonathan David attempted with a header from a very close distance in the box, however his effort was spectacularly saved by Silva. Juventus missed a golden opportunity to defeat Sporting Clube de Portugal with a late goal!
