February 19th - According to ESPN, Kyrie Irving will miss the remainder of the season to focus on his rehabilitation following surgery on his left anterior cruciate ligament ( ACL ). Irving underwent surgery last March and has not played this season. The team confirmed that Irving plans to return for the 2026-27 season.
In an official statement, the Mavericks said Kyrie Irving's recovery is progressing steadily and he will continue to maintain close contact with the team for the remainder of the season, participating in relevant training and team activities. Irving's agent, Shetellia Riley Irving, also revealed that the core goal of this decision was to ensure his return is "100% or better," preparing him for a championship run next season.
The 33- year-old Irving also missed the last 20 games of last season due to injury.
