Leeds United announced on its official website on Saturday that Wolfsburg's Germany international forward Lukas Nmecha has joined the club as a free agent after his contract had expired.
According to Leeds United's official statement, Nmecha on has signed a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027. He will officially become a member of the Whites on July 1, when the summer transfer window reopens again.
After completing his joining procedures, Nmecha, who was interviewed by Leeds United's official website for the first time, said: "This is really a great challenge. I am very happy and want to get to know the team as soon as possible."
"I have talked to the coach many times, and I am very happy to play the style they play in the EFL Championship and even in the Premier League."
"I saw that they dominated the ball and scored goals last season. I am an offensive player, so this is obviously exciting for me."
"Of course, in the Premier League, there are teams with better quality and you can't always play like that, but I think the manager's philosophy is to play exciting football, possession-based football, and that's what I'm used to and what I like. ”
