Arsenal will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the third round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his deep impression of recent signing Eze, both with his attitude and training performance.

The 27-year-old English midfielder Eze previously played for Crystal Palace and contributed 8 goals and 8 assists to Crystal Palace in the 2024/25 Premier League season. He also helped Crystal Palace win the FA Cup with his goals.

Just last week, Eze officially joined Arsenal and signed a four-year contract.

Arsenal manager Arteta said in an interview, "Eze left a deep impression on me. I have heard a lot about him before and have talked to many people about this player. He is very smart, has a special energy and aura, and is very positive. He has mastered many of the things we hope to see on the court, and more importantly, we must ensure that he can play freely and show his abilities, which is why we brought him in."

Arteta said: "We now have a lot of players who can play in different positions and fill in when needed. Considering the injury problems we had at the beginning of the season, this flexibility has become very necessary, so I am very happy to have this squad depth."

Asked if Eze would start against Liverpool, Arteta said: "We have a lot of options in that position and that's been our strength this season. So we'll see and I'm not going to give you any clues.

"We need to bring in players who can improve the team and play a decisive role in the game. Zikeres and Eze have the ability to make finishing moves at the crucial moment. Whether it is to put the ball into the net or create a key moment in the attack, they can contribute individual skills and magical moments, which is exactly what we need to win the game."
