Arsenal are about to face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta called on the entire Arsenal team to create a new historic moment together at their home stadium, the Emirates Stadium.
Three weeks ago, Arsenal beat Real Madrid 3-0 at home, creating one of the most memorable nights in the club's history. In the pre-match press conference, Arteta said of the upcoming challenge: "We need to do more tomorrow."
"I told the players to bring their boots, shorts and shirts and let's fight for every ball together. We want to do something special and make the Emirates Stadium a place that has never been played before."
Arteta stressed that he hopes every fan present and those who follow Arsenal around the world can bring their passion and energy to the game and become one with the team. He believes that this support can be a huge boost for Arsenal in key battles.
When asked if the relationship between the club and the fans is now the strongest it has been since his playing days, Arteta had no hesitation in saying in the affirmative: “After the recent series of important moments, the connection will be even stronger.
“Tomorrow is not only an important moment for the team, but also a great opportunity for the fans to show themselves and show our unity. We are standing on the threshold of making history and bringing joy and hope to people. Now that everything is within reach, we must go all out to seize this moment and make dreams come true.”
As Arsenal advances step by step in the Champions League, the entire team and the fans are working together to continue writing their own glorious chapter this season.
