Ansu Fati has renewed his contract with Barcelona until June 30, 2028, and will join French Ligue 1 team Monaco on loan next season. Barcelona and Monaco have reached an agreement on the loan, which will last until June 30, 2026.  

Born on October 31, 2002 in Bissau, the capital of Guinea-Bissau, the striker joined Sevilla's youth training at the age of six and began his professional football career. In 2012, he entered the Barcelona youth training camp at the age of 10 and made his first-team debut against Betis at the age of 16 years and 298 days in the 2019-20 season.  

On August 31, 2019, Ansu Fati became one of the youngest league scorers in the club's history at the age of 16 years and 304 days in Barcelona's league match against Osasuna. He received a header from Carles Perez in the match in Pamplona and scored a crucial goal to help the team draw 2-2.  

In the same season, Ansu Fati scored his first UEFA Champions League goal against Inter Milan at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza at the age of 17 years and 40 days, breaking the record for the youngest goal scorer since 1997.  

In the 2019-20 season, Ansu Fati played 33 times for the first team. He started the new season with an eye-catching performance, scoring 5 goals in 10 games, but in November 2020, he was reimbursed for the season ahead of schedule due to a serious knee injury.  

Despite making 51 appearances and contributing 10 goals in the 2022-23 season, the striker's growth was hampered by injuries. The following season, he was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion in England, and although he was not fully fit, he still played an important role in the team's success.  

In the 2024-25 season, he returned to Barcelona under the guidance of new coach Hansi Flick, making a total of 11 appearances, helping the team win the League Championship, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, all of which were his second titles.
