Barcelona announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of its Spain international winger wonderkid Lamine Yamal.
According to Barcelona's official statement, Yamal has signed on a new long-term six-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031. According to La Liga's regulations, his release clause will also be increased to €500 million.
In addition, according to the news brought by Spanish online media outlet Relevo's resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, Barcelona has added a special clause to Yamal's new contract.
As far as he knows, if Yamal wins the Balon D'or one day, his release clause will be automatically adjusted to €1.5 billion.
About Lamine Yamal
Yamal, who is still only 17 years old, was born on July 13, 2007 in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.80 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger. He can also play as a left winger. He has the nationalities of Spain, Equatorial Guinea and Morocco.
Yamal joined the youth academy of the local non-league club La Torreta at the age of 4. Two years later, he was spotted by Barcelona scouts and officially joined Barcelona's famous La Masia youth academy in 2014.
