Roma announced on its official website on Tuesday that Brighton's Ireland international center forward wonderkid Evan Ferguson has joined the club on-loan.

According to Roma's official statement, Ferguson will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement includes a non-mandatory buyout clause. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 11 jersey previously worn by Ukrainian international center forward Artem Dovbyk.

In addition, according to the news brought by Sky Sports' resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, the Serie A powerhouse has the priority rights to buy out Ferguson's ownership for €40 million.

About Evan Ferguson

Ferguson, who is only 20 years old, was born on October 19, 2004 in Betiston, Ireland. He is 1.88 meters tall and plays as a center forward. His father is Barry Ferguson, a former legendary Ireland international defender.

Evan Ferguson joined his father's former club, Bohemians' youth academy, at an early age. He won the Irish U17 League Championship with the club, and then completed his first-team debut in September 2019, becoming the youngest player in Bohemians' club history.

With his good performances, Ferguson was pursued by Liverpool in the summer of 2020, but at the time he thought he was not yet able to serve as a capable understudy for Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri and thus he refused to join the Reds.
