The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League ushered in the third round of competition. The "Gunners" Arsenal, sitting at the Emirates Stadium, relied on goals from Gabriel, Martinelli and Džekeres to finally defeat the "Bed Sheet Army" Atletico Madrid 4-0.

Five minutes into the match, Arsenal seized possession and launched an attack. Eze received a pass from Džekeres and broke through to the top of the penalty area. In the 45th minute, Atletico Madrid got a free kick. Alvarez took the penalty and shot directly, but the ball went wide of the goal.

In the 50th minute of the second half, Alvarez received a diagonal pass from his teammate outside the penalty area and turned to shoot from distance, but the ball hit the post. In the 56th minute, Martin Subimendi passed the ball to the defense, and Džekeres volleyed the ball, but it was blocked by Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Oblak.

In the 57th minute, Rice took a free kick and Gabriel headed the ball into the goal, helping Arsenal take the lead 1-0. In the 64th minute, Lewis Skelly dribbled the ball into the penalty area near the top of the arc, and Martinelli followed up with a shot and scored, helping Arsenal continue to lead Atletico Madrid 2-0.

In the 67th minute, Martin Subimendi lobbed the ball, Martinelli received it and passed it back from the penalty area. Then Dzekeres scored with a low shot in the melee, helping Arsenal further extend their lead to 3-0. Three minutes later, Rice took a corner kick, Gabriel headed the ball, and Dzekeres knocked the ball into the net, helping Arsenal make the score 4-0.

In the 77th minute, Atletico Madrid tried to counterattack. Almada received a diagonal pass from his teammate in the penalty area and shot, but the ball was saved by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. In the 85th minute, Gallagher received the ball in the penalty area and shot, but David Raya immediately flew to block the ball.

In the end, Arsenal defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 at home.
