Feyenoord announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has signed Denmark international forward Casper Tengstedt from Benfica.

According to the Eredivisie giants' official statement, Tengstedt has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.

After completing his joining procedures, Tengstedt, who was interviewed by Feyenoord's official website for the first time, said: "Feyenoord is a wonderful new chapter for me and a great club."

"Fredrik Aursnes (former Feyenoord Norway international defensive midfielder who is currently playing for Benfica) is one of my best friends. He told me everything about Feyenoord, especially the experience and the fans there, and I can't imagine what will happen in the future. That's why I am very much looking forward to playing in De Kuip."

"The Champions League qualifiers are waiting for us there, it's an important task, and I am eager to help the club qualify. ”

About Casper Tengstedt

Tengstedt, 26, was born on June 1, 2000 in Aalborg, Denmark. He primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a winger or attacking midfielder. His father Thomas and uncles Rene and Kim Tengstedt are all former professional players of local lower-league club.

Tengstedt joined the Midtjylland youth academy at a young age and was promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2019.

After a short loan to join the Nuremberg reserve team on the 2019 summer transfer window deadline day, Tengstedt joined Horsens on-loan in August 2020 and completed his first-team debut with the latter.

After a good season, Tengstedt's ownership was officially bought out by Horsens in July 2021.

After officially joining Horsens, Tengstedt, who played 27 times in all competitions in just one and a half years, scored 20 goals and assisted 2 times, soon became a Denmark U21s international player and won the Danish First Division with the club.

In August 2022, Tengstedt moved to Rosenborg for €1 million. During this spell, he was compared with Darwin Núñez because of his high goalscoring efficiency.

In January of the following year, Tengstedt joined Benfica for €9.5 million.

Last summer, Tengstedt was loaned-out to Heras Verona.

During his two-and-a-half-year spell with As Águias, Tengstedt played 35 times for Benfica across all competitions, scored 4 goals, assisted 7 times. During which he has won the Portuguese Primeira Liga once and the Portuguese Super Cup once with the club.
