Renowned experienced head coach Maurizio Sarri officially returns to Lazio 1 year after following the sacking of Marco Baroni..

Lazio announced on its official website on Monday that the club's former Italian head coach Marco Baroni has been sacked and former renowned experienced head coach Maurizio Sarri has returned as the club's new head coach.

According to Lazio's official statement, Sarri has signed on a two-year contract with the club which will run until the summer of 2027. Depending on the club's performances, Sarri's contract has a optional clause to extend for another year.

In addition, according to the news brought by Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lazio has already been planning to change their head coach since a few days ago.

He revealed that because I Biancocelesti lost to Lecce in the final game of the season, the club will miss out on any European competition next season, President Claudio Lotito has been planning to sack Marco Baroni for some time.

Because the relationship between both parties are still good, Lotito and Sarri have been able to reach an agreement within a few days.

At the same time, he also took the opportunity to refute that AC Milan had never had any approach with Sarri, nor had they had any intention of appointing Sarri as their new head coach.

Romano also said that no journalist in the industry in Europe had ever heard of Sarri is having any approach with AC Milan!

Therefore, the article written by our website's notoriously infamous female rumour monger "Ms. Titan" who loves fabricating rumours about the Serie A giants in September 2024 is complete nonsense!

It is worth mentioning that Pioli decided to resign last summer because of major changes in the management and went to coach at Al-Nassr.

Who in the world decided to return less than 2 months after leaving I Rossoneri for personal reasons, and was just officially announced as the new head coach of the Saudi Pro League giants on the same day?!

Obviously, when "Ms. Titan" made up this fake news, it was claer that she didn't even know what she was writing or what she was trying to express!

About Maurizio Sarri

The 66-year-old Sarri was born in Naples, Italy on January 10, 1959. He is 1.85 meters tall and played as a center back during his playing career.

Sarri has previously coached Sansovino, Pescara, Arezzo, Hellas Verona, and Empoli among other clubs, and led the latter to be promoted to the Serie A.

In June 2015, Sarri replaced former legendary Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as Napoli head coach. During which, he successfully discovered the talents of naturalized Italian international midfield star Jorginho and led I Partenopei to finish in top three several times, becoming famous as a result.

In July 2018, Sarri was appointed as Chelsea head coach, during which he led the club to win the UEFA Europa League.

The following summer, Sarri was appointed head coach of Juventus.

Although Sarri led the club to win the Serie A, he failed to win all other cup competitions, including the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana, as well as being eliminated in the Round of 16s in the UEFA Champions League, which ultimately led to his sacking in August 2020.

In the summer of 2021, Sarri was appointed as Lazio head coach, and later resigned in March last year due to poor performances.

Since being appointed, Sarri has coached the Serie A powerhouse in 137 games in across all competitions, achieving 65 wins, 30 draws, and 42 losses, with a winning percentage of 47.45%.
